Policy Documents

Bournemouth Interpreters’ Group policy documents are freely available via this page of the website. We also have a series of support documents  for members and service providers accessible in this section.

Our Scale of Fees has been agreed in consultation with service providers and members. The rates will be made available to other organisations and individuals as appropriate on request.

In the event that a booking cancellation becomes necessary, please be aware of the terms of our Cancellation policy.

All of our member-interpreters have signed our Code of Practice . This document is in line with other Codes adopted across the UK by similar organisations and many commercial agencies.

Any complaint, however minor, against an interpreter should in the first instance also be raised with the interpreter themselves. Where there are issues which may impinge upon the Group as a whole and its reputation and standing in the community, including serious breaches of the Code of Practice and any other significant issues of concern arising from an assignment, a member of the Board should be notified as soon as practicable. If a matter is not easily resolved and is related to the BIG Code of Practice, we will if appropriate instigate our Complaints Procedure .

In line with other organisations operating within the public and voluntary sector and dealing direct with members of the public, Bournemouth Interpreters’ Group also has a series of other policies in place, each of which can be viewed here:

If you wish to view our Company Articles of Association  and our Community Interest Statement Part 1 and Part 2 in relation to our standing as a Community Interest Company, these can be viewed here.
